Before any manufacturer launches a brand-new automobile, it puts the vehicle through a gazillion tests, putting it through every conceivable torture possible. It’s only after the car has passed all of these tests promisingly enough, does the company even announce its launch in the market. For example, America’s auto giant Ford has been rigorously testing its all-new and upcoming Taurus sedan in the Middle East. According to the Blue Oval, the Taurus has been the brand’s “best-selling nameplate” in the region, which is quite impressive. Ford mentions that it currently has specialized testing facilities for its upcoming cars in places like Thailand, India, Australia and China.

Commenting on the upcoming Taurus was its Product Development General Manager, Ford International Markets Group. He said, “It’s crucial to the comfort of our customers, and the integrity of the all-new Taurus, that we test in such extreme climes. Dust and sand can play havoc on engine internals and suspension components by accelerating wear on moving parts. Add that to the searing heat, and you are faced with a vehicle that has to work much harder than it might have to in more favorable conditions. Our testing ensures Taurus’ engine, transmission, driveline- and cooling systems can handle the demands of the region.”

The all-new Ford Taurus comes in the way of the nameplate, which has existed in the world’s markets since the mid-1980s. In all this time, the Taurus has been through six generations, with the upcoming iteration being the seventh-gen model. When compared to its earlier versions, this Ford Taurus is a full-size sedan and is based on the Blue Oval’s latest CD4 platform. To make it an even sweeter deal for prospective buyers, Ford has extended the original CD4 platform’s wheelbase by nearly 100mm, which will open up much space for those seated in the back. In essence, this architecture is pretty much the same as the ones found in the posher Lincoln Continental/MKZ.

The upcoming all-new Ford Taurus sports an improved and upscale-looking exterior design. This takes into account an entirely reworked front fascia with new LED headlights, grille and bumper, a more streamlined & sophisticated-looking side silhouette with new alloy wheels, and equally revised & sculpted rear end. If you’re looking forward to an elegant yet modern-looking full-size family sedan, then the all-new Ford Taurus will catch your attention. In the Middle East, the upcoming Taurus should be available in shades such as White Platinum, Absolute Black, Stone Grey, Blue Panther, and Crystal Solid White. As for its trim levels, you could pick from Ambiente, Trend, Titanium, and Titanium Plus.

Just like the exterior, Ford has also updated the interior of the all-new Taurus to make it look and feel more upmarket and luxurious than before. To make that happen, the automaker has fitted new and more stylish seats with high-quality leather upholstery plus heating & ventilation functions, an expansive dual-pane sunroof, an 8-inch digital driver’s display, tri-zone automatic climate control, ambient LED lighting, a new 13.2-inch touch-infotainment system with Apple CarPlay & Android Auto, a wireless charging pad, along with a rear-center armrest that features Lexus LS levels of equipment and a banging 14-speaker B&O premium sound system. The all-new Ford Taurus also touts its safety equipment by reeling in features like Adaptive LED headlamps, Adaptive cruise control, Collision mitigation system with Automatic emergency braking, an automated parking system, Blind Spot Information System, Lane-keeping aid, Driver impairment monitor, electronic stability & traction control systems, Tire Pressure Monitoring System, and a whole sleuth of airbags.

When it comes to the engine under the hood, the all-new Ford Taurus will supposedly come with a 2.0-liter EcoBoost four-banger that develops 240hp and 390Nm of peak twisting force. Spinning the front wheels via an 8-speed automatic gearbox, the all-new Taurus should reach 100 kph in around 8 seconds or so, and be capable of hitting a top speed of 218 kph. According to certain statistics, the upcoming Taurus EcoBoost should average around 8.2 L/100 km or 12.1 kpl. So far, it looks like Ford has a winning product in their hands in the form of the upcoming all-new Taurus. Well, Insha’Allah.
