The Paris Motor Show is an exciting event on motoring aficionados’ calendars and one that is inevitably packed with several thrilling offerings on display. The lifeblood of most motor shows, concept cars provide an insight into the foreseeable future and lend many a hints as to the technology that can be found in upcoming models. What follows, is a list of drool-worthy concept cars featured at the 2016 Paris Motor Show.

BMW X2

The newest entrant into the German automaker’s line-up, the BMW X2 is a sportier alternative to the humdrum X1 and a vehicle that according to company officials, is targeted at “active people looking for a combination of enjoyment and practicality”. Connoting a shift in the brand’s design language, the X2 flaunts a softer, more elegant silhouette than current occupants in the brand’s SUV line-up, the X1, X3, X4, X5, and X6.

A near-production concept of the upcoming QX which is expected to make its global debut next year, the QX Sport Inspiration is a stunner in the truest of senses. So much so, that it’s got photographers and enthusiasts in a frenzy attempting to capture it from every angle possible on the show floor. What’s uncertain at this point in time, however, is whether the Infiniti QX Sport Inspiration is set to replace the dated QX50 or the QX60.

Lexus UX

Designed by a team led by Simon Humphries in Toyota’s studio located in the South of France, the Lexus UX is a sight for sore eyes. Flared wheel arches, muscular haunches and sizeable alloy wheels lend it an intimidating stance. Although there’s no official word on the powertrain residing under the overly sculpted exterior, the tailpipes indicate an internal combustion engine, possibly aided by an electric motor.
