Toyota Supra gets fans excited at Virtual Auto Show
The Toyota Supra, the Japanese brand’s halo sportscar, has been capturing headlines across the world for a few months now. With enthusiasts eager to know more about the legendary sports car and get a better look at it, Toyota brings it to the region’s first-ever Virtual Auto Show.
Different and downright stylish, the all-new Supra is much smaller than its predecessors. A dedicated sportscar as opposed to a grand tourer, the Supra’s overall length matches that of its younger sibling, the 86, but is styled very differently as it sits lower, wider, and bears a shorter wheelbase. The protruding snout houses large air intakes while the integrated spoiler and dipped roof denote its dedication to aerodynamic efficiency.
Tuned by Toyota’s Gazoo Racing team, the new Supra is embellished with ‘GR’ badges and is powered by a 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder engine that produces 335 horsepower and 500 Nm of torque with the assistance of a twin-scroll turbocharger. Pushed through an 8-speed automatic transmission, it hits 100 km/h in 4.1-seconds and bears a top speed of 250 km/h.
