Car reviews are becoming increasingly sought after in this intricate world where there is an umpteen variety of automobiles available, each bristling with their own set of quirks and features but what is of paramount significance to be noted here, is that car reviewers or critics take us away from being defrauded by some unscrupulous companies or dealers. Of all those who peruse such new and used car reviews, a substantial girth of those simply absorb a glimpse of it and store it for future reference. However, those truly afflicted by the product and have made a conscious decision to see their favourite car parked in their garage, here are some steps to take after reading the reviews. The UAE car reviews are being conscientiously referred to in the region as these are instrumental in channelling one’s decision towards opting for the right car.

  • Consult friends/relatives and others who might have purchased the car

While automotive journalists and reviewers provide a rounded perspective covering everything from what lies on the epidermis (looks, space, features, performance and competition) and aspects which aren’t explicitly known such as value for money, discounts offered by the marque and its competition among other things, they are generally bequeathed the car for a whiff. While the procurement of this vehicle removes the curtain on certain things, there are other aspects which sometimes don’t get underscored during that stint, maybe because of the restricted time or wilful negligence of the reviewer as some times, the companies endorse marginal and upcoming critics to remain clandestine about some obscene facts of the car.

Hence, it is advisable to consult friends or any acquaintances that would have purchased this car for a true, unexpurgated view on the car which would have a solid bearing on your decision.

  • Sample the car

Reviews are essentially, perspectives of experts who might be directed by certain preconceived notions in their appraisal of the car. Hence, the best way to judge a product is by visiting the manufacturer or its authorised dealer to dabble with it. During the test drive, put the car through a hard-core examination incorporating traversing at a moderate pace through speed-breakers and rumble strips, driving through incline with all passengers aboard and AC on and manoeuvring the car through serpentine sections at a considerable gait.

At the same time, it would be advisable to notice vibrations, unexpected clatter from the engines, vexing cacophony from the AC vents and creaking sounds from the plastics and the suspension. Ogle at the odometer once. One can remain partially oblivious to the din if the car is reasonably obsolete or has clocked in a generous amount of miles. However, if that isn’t the case, it is beneficial to strike off that car’s moniker from the grid of considerations.

Moreover, experience all the features, the tactility of the switchgear, space at the back and the trunk volume.

  • Compare prices, instalment schemes and discounts available, if any

Ultimately, before leaving the dealership, have a rendezvous with the attendant about the agreement which would encapsulate the prices, interest rates, instalment schemes and discounts available at the time of purchase. A brief contention against other cars of the segment would unravel if you’re paying an overwhelming amount for the car or you should keep an eye on cheaper alternatives.

It is understood that a car is the penultimate most important decision, preceded by one’s house. Hence, keeping the aforementioned determinants firmly in mind while selecting and acquiring the prized possession will lead to long-term utility and peace of mind along with not just greater miles per hour, but even smiles per hour.
