Quick Review

The 2013 Chevrolet Cruze is a vast improvement on its ancestors. Chevrolet have come up with a decent small sedan. This time around, the interior decor has bucked its ideas up and it has a lot more interior space which is very welcome, if overdue.

In terms of space, most drivers and front seat passengers will feel comfortable. However, anyone well over six feet may have issues with the headroom. The rear seats are a little more compact, making them fine for occasional passengers or children, but not great for those with longer legs. Anyone who regularly carries large loads will appreciate the storage space which is more generous than that offered by many cars in the same segment.

The Cruze has excellent handling for a car in its power range. The modest 1.8 liter engine in the basic model will help you to nip around town fairly easily.

It would be very difficult, if not impossible to find a car as safe as the Chevrolet Cruze and many more expensive cars could take a leaf from the Cruze’s safety book. Even the basic model comes with a show-stopping ten air bags, including innovative knee bags to keep the driver and front seat passenger safely in position.

For the price tag, it’s a worthwhile set of wheels. Alternatively, you may want to consider the Mitsubishi Lancer, Ford Focus and Toyota Yaris.
