Quick Overview

The 2014 Challenger is a modern day muscle car, mixing old school flair with modern day technology. The result is a distinctly pleasant drive with tons of road presence. With big fenders, enormous hood, huge rims and head-turner looks, the Challenger really lives up to its name. Its main muscle car rivals include the Chevrolet Camaro and the Ford Mustang.

The 2014 Challenger oozes nostalgia from the 1970s, a really good looking car with brutish looks. However, look beyond that and you find that this is one very relaxing and comfortable cruiser that is sure to get you noticed. Sharing the basic platform of the Dodge Charger, it is a very big car, and feels like one too. Handling isn't the Challenger strong point but it does have an effortless feel. The Challenger comes with a choice of 3 engines, a 3.6 Litre V6 with 305 HP, a 5.7 Litre V8 with 376 HP and a monstrous 6.4 Litre HEMI V8 with 470 HP in the SRT 392 model. All engines will make quick work of this car size but the big 6.4 V8 will leave almost anything behind, a raw power plant with a exhaust note that can create earthquakes reminiscent of the 1970s.

Being a Dodge, the interior is functional and logical, while it may not be covered in acres of leather and have the design or gadgets of a more upmarket car, it feels old school, solid and durable. Standard equipment is decent, but with a number of options to suit anyone's needs it can become quite a unique car. The old school charm will attract buyers, and the 2014 Challenger will turn heads. It certainly lives up to its heritage.
