Quick Review

The 2013 Kia Rio is a great choice for anyone looking for a small car with a wallet friendly price tag. The Rio is competitively priced than its nearest rivals and it leaves the Ford Fiesta and Honda Jazz with tough competition.

You get a lot of car for your money and the Rio comes bundled with lots of useful accessories like steering wheel mounted audio controls.

The Rio is reasonably smooth and its 1.4 litre engine is enough for driving around town, shopping, school runs and short commutes. However, road performance is where the Rio loses out to the Fiesta and it’s less of a performer on motorways. If you want something with higher performance, look at other alternatives but be prepared to pay higher prices.

Safety is a major consideration if you’re planning to tote your family around town. Kia has a good solid combination this year and increased the safety features on the Rio compared with the 2011 model. The Rio comes with six air bags, side impact protection and the new model now has anti-lock brakes and electronic vehicle stability control fitted as standard.
