Classic car in UAE seized for resembling police car

Dubai, UAE - A classic car owner in Dubai got his car impounded when he turned on the flashing lights and an off-duty police officer reported him to the nearest police station, as reported in Khaleej Times. The driver was doing all of this on Jumeirah Street in Dubai, which is frequented by many luxury and classic car enthusiasts.

According to UAE law on car modifications, it is illegal to modify your car to resemble a police car. Furthermore, it is illegal to install overhead flashing lights on a car since they are used by the police as well.

It's common sense but we guess it's not quite common so it bears repeating: Do not modify your car to look like a police car!
