Quick Review

The 2012 Ford F-150 has undergone minimalistic upgrades in the technology and design departments and now boasts a better driving experience than the previous models.

The F-150 is available in two engine variants, a 5.0 liter 8 cylinder which is capable of 360 horsepower and 515 Nm whereas the 6.2 liter 8 cylinder produces a ground shaking 411 horsepower and 588 Nm. With those skyrocketing torque figures, it is no mystery as to why the F-150 tops the towing capability charts. The only drawback being that both engines are mated to a 6 speed continuous variable transmission.

In terms of the interior, the F-150 has majorly improved from a couple of years ago. The interior is no longer boring and has a very luxurious feel to it. Captain chairs and a great 8 inch navigation system come fitted in the top of the range models while standard on all models is an extremely spacious rear seat offering ample legroom for rear passengers. Depending on the trim you pick, the interior ranges from sporty to luxurious.

As for the exterior, the F-150 is a without doubt one of the best looking pickups in the market today. It looks tough yet not as aggressive as the Dodge Ram. It looks equally at home whether it is driven in the city or off the beaten path.

If the Ford F-150 is not your cup of tea, you may wish to have a look at Chevrolet Silverado, GMC Sierra and Dodge Ram.
