Geely Emgrand GT 2016 to be launched tomorrow

Geely has been making noise recently in the GCC. Perhaps, they are the only brand that is bothered with marketing their products. They believe they have something great to offer in this all so competitive market and so they are getting decent advertising budget. The latest car being advertised on all the Geely GCC websites is the all-new Emgrand GT. It has already been launched in Oman and Saudi Arabia – and mostly other GCC markets as well. And, tomorrow, it is going to be launched in the UAE. The dealer – Union Motors – is holding a special event at the showroom for the launch of the Emgrand GT.

Coming to the car itself, the Geely Emgrand GT is a front wheel drive car. The GT is powered by either a 2.4 liter or a 3.5 liter engine. The 3.5 liter engine produces a decent 285 BHP and 326 Nm. Both engines are mated to a six-speed automatic gearbox. This is good enough to propel the car from 0-100 in 8.8 seconds. Geely says that the GT is aimed at the BMWs and Mercedes. Well, that argument makes sense considering the fact that the Emgrand GT has won the ‘China Car of the Year’ award.

As for the feature list, the 2016 Geely Emgrand GT does boast quite a lot.  However, the most impressive ones are auto-foldable mirrors, electronic parking brake with auto hold, panoramic sunroof, LED taillights and various drive modes. We are not completely sure what the UAE specs will be but they will definitely be in sync with the other countries. But for now, if there is any indication, the pricing mostly won’t be crossing the 100k AED mark. Obviously Geely wants the car to sell and the only way they can do it is by pricing it competitively. Let’s hope for the best.
