Lamborghini Centenario Roadster unveiled at Monterey Car Week

The Lamborghini Centenario is the Italian brand’s way of honoring its Founder, Ferruccio Lamborghini, on his 100th birthday. Debuting at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show, the Centenario falls under the manufacturer’s One-off Limited Edition series and is rightly limited to a mere 40 units.

At the recently held Monterey Car Week in California, the Italian marque unveiled something even more exciting, something even more exclusive: The Lamborghini Centenario Roadster. Limited to just 20 units, all of which have been sold out, the Centenario Roadster wears a price tag of approximately AED 9,700,000 and works as a tribute to the brand’s extraordinary past and a preview of its brilliant future.
Stefano Domenicali, CEO of Lamborghini Automobili, was quoted as saying, “Centenario Roadster embraces the cutting edge characteristics of its coupe sibling and embraces the freedom of a true open-top super sports car for a pure driving experience.”

Under the hood, the Centenario Roadster retains the 760 horsepower naturally aspirated V12 from the Coupe. In addition to four-wheel-drive and four-wheel-steering, the Centenario Roadster welcomes plenty of carbon fiber, including the entire monocoque. With the redline increased to an eardrum-shattering 8,600 RPM, the Centenario Roadster hits the 100km/h mark in 2.8 seconds and tops out at a breathtaking 300 km/h.

The Centenario Roadster joins the likes of the Reventón, the Sesto Elemento, and the Veneno – all of which have made their way onto wallpaper images of motoring aficionados across the world. In similar fashion to its predecessors, however, the Centenario is a display of the Italian brand’s exceptional talent and nothing else.
